Launchpad is where extraordinary individuals come to accelerate their ideas, gain vital business and entrepreneurial skills, develop viable start-ups and bring them to market. By combining the talents of software engineers, digital creatives and business people, this master's programme challenges people to meet global problems.

The Launchpad venture studio allows people to investigate exciting challenges in partnership with Entrepreneurs in Residence, mentors and partners. Launchpad is a venture studio that is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund and Research England.

You will:

  • Identify a market opportunity and work in collaboration with partners and Entrepreneurs in Residence
  • Have the opportunity to leave with a stake in a market validated venture
  • Build a network of industry connections
  • Study Entrepreneurship MSc
  • Receive a stipend when you incorporate your business

Course details

You'll not only gain an MSc in Entrepreneurship, you'll be supported to emerge as a founder of a high-growth digital business. Launchpad is a business incubation and development programme, helping you grow your expertise in markets, customers, investors, and how a business works.

You’ll put relevant business and management knowledge into practice, including finance, sales and marketing. Using reflective practice, you’ll explore project management techniques and build your leadership skills. And by looking into communication strategies in different media, you’ll get a better idea of your role in a team and develop your interpersonal skills.

Backing up your expertise, you’ll research modern business and management issues and practices, and evaluate information, business areas and working methods. Finally, you’ll analyse, evaluate and apply creative ideas, so you can come up with original solutions to complex problems.

Managing Opportunities

You'll learn how to identify opportunities, and build them into powerful value propositions.

Design Thinking

You'll analyse the art of re-framing 'wicked problems', with a view to creating truly powerful solutions.

Leadership and Team Development

You'll develop an effective organisational culture for your firm.

Financial Management for Entrepreneurs

You'll gain the tools and frameworks to understand your business fiscally.

Marketing Strategy

You'll develop your own 'marketing playbook', allowing you to communicate prescriptively with your audience.

Digital Leadership

You'll learn how to compete and win in the market by developing innovative products and services.

Practice-Based Project

Your studies will culminate by launching your product to market.

The modules above are those being studied by our students, or proposed new ones. Programme structures and modules can change as part of our curriculum enhancement and review processes. If a certain module is important to you, please discuss it with the Course Leader.

How you'll learn

You’ll attend study sessions and have full access to our academic support resources. There’ll also be opportunities to support and develop your business by working with other departments, like the Games Academy and the School of Communication

Assessment methods

You’ll need to complete a series of academic assessments directly applied to your business. These include market research, a project plan and a business plan.

Becoming part of the Launchpad programme at Falmouth means you'll join our dynamic entrepreneurial community. Take a look at the stories below to discover more about studying with us.
