The Applicant Portal
We'll email you with instructions and a login for the Applicant Portal, where you'll see what else you need to do. You can upload documents like ID and proof of residency to the Applicant Portal as well as manage your interview.
You'll also find details of your own Applicant Services team member. They'll guide you through the whole application process and answer any questions you have.
At Falmouth, we assess every applicant on their enthusiasm, potential and drive to succeed, rather than just their grades. That's why we'll ask you to put together a portfolio of your work, prepare a performance or deliver a presentation, depending on your chosen course. This means we can learn about your ability, style and personality.
Visit our Preparing for your interview page to find your course and check what you'll need to prepare before your interview.
Performance
If you're applying for an audition-based course, such as a performance or music subject, you'll be asked to prepare a performance for your interview. This will either be a performance specific to the course, or you'll have the opportunity to develop a performance in response to one of the Falmouth Creative Projects instead.
You'll need to record your performance or music and upload a link via the Applicant Portal in order to secure your interview date. You may be asked to do your performance at your interview as well, so come prepared.
Portfolio
If you are applying for a portfolio-based course, you'll need to upload a link of your digital portfolio to the Applicant Portal in order to secure your interview date. Take a look at our Portfolio advice page for tips on what to include in your portfolio.
If you don't have a completed portfolio from this year, don't worry. You can use one of our Falmouth Creative Projects to help you develop a portfolio.
It's up to you if you'd like to bring a hard copy of your portfolio to your interview. This can be helpful to remind you what to talk about, but it's not essential.
Presentation
If you're applying for a non-portfolio or non-performance based course, then you need to respond to one of our Falmouth Creative Projects with a presentation. Think creatively about how you might present your idea, you don't just have to use a Powerpoint.
You'll do your presentation to us in your interview, so there's no need to upload any files in advance.
Enjoy preparing for your interview
We understand that it can be daunting preparing for a university interview, especially if you don't have access to all your work, or if your education has been different over the last two years. We want to encourage you to see your interview as an opportunity to show us what you're passionate about and what you'll bring to our creative community.
We're always here to help, so if you have any questions you can use the contact details at the bottom of this page and we can support your application journey.
You'll be invited to your online interview via the Applicant Portal. If you'd prefer to have an in-person interview on campus or at one of our regional interview events, then you'll be able to let us know in the Applicant Portal.
University interviews give you the opportunity to demonstrate your creative skills, which helps us to consider your potential to succeed. They are also a great way for you to get to know Falmouth better and find out if it's the best fit for you.
If you can't make the interview date you've been given, there's no need to worry, just log into the Applicant Portal and select a preferred date.
We try to make a decision within five working days of your interview. However, we want everyone to have a fair chance, so popular courses can take longer.
University offer types
There are two types of offer you could receive:
Conditional offer: You'll need to fulfil some conditions before starting your studies, like getting certain grades and meeting our English language requirements.
Unconditional offer: You don't have any conditions to fulfil prior to starting the course, you have secured a place. We'll get in touch with you about next steps.
If you are an International Student you will also need to pay an acceptance fee, we'll give you all the details for this in the Applicant Portal.
If you applied via UCAS, log in to your UCAS hub to accept your university offer.
If you applied directly with us, you can accept your offer through the Applicant Portal
We'll save your place as soon as you accept a conditional or unconditional offer, and we'll let you know if we need any more information.
If you're wondering how your application's coming along, or you're worried that you won't meet your conditions, just get in touch and we can help with support and advice.
