Application Toolkit

Our Application Toolkit is designed to make applying to study an undergraduate degree at Falmouth as seamless as possible.
These pages include a step-by-step guide of your university application journey and information to help you at every stage.
We understand that the last two years have been a challenging time for students, so if you're concerned about your grades, applying to us or preparing for your interview, then please don't worry. We're here to help you and you'll find support throughout our Application Toolkit pages and plenty of ways to contact us if you need help.
Your apply journey
Applying to Falmouth University is simple. We've outlined each step of the process here so you know what to expect and when.
Apply through UCAS
Wherever you are in the world, whether you are in further education, planning on transferring from another institution or not currently studying, you can apply through UCAS. If you're unable to use UCAS, just get in touch. We're here to help.
When applying through UCAS you'll need to reference the UCAS code for your course, which can be found on your course page, as well as the Falmouth University UCAS code: F33.
International applications
To apply as an international student you can apply via UCAS, through an agent in your country or directly to the University. Find out more on our international applications page
Online degree applications
You can apply for an online degree by filling out our direct application form online. Find out more by visiting our apply for an online degree page
Application advice
For information about how to write a personal statement, head to our personal statement guide
We're also hosting a range of online events to help you with your university application. Keep an eye on our upcoming events to get expert advice.
Additional needs
If you have any additional needs, disabilities or are a carer, let us know about it on your UCAS form. This will help us to take your circumstances into consideration and give you any additional support you might need.
Once you've submitted your university application, you'll get an email to confirm that we've received it. This should arrive within two working days, so keep an eye on your inbox.
The Applicant Portal
We'll email you with instructions and a login for the Applicant Portal, where you'll see what else you need to do. You can upload documents like ID and proof of residency to the Applicant Portal as well as manage your interview.
You'll also find details of your own Applicant Services team member. They'll guide you through the whole application process and answer any questions you have.
At Falmouth, we assess every applicant on their enthusiasm, potential and drive to succeed, rather than just their grades. That's why we'll ask you to put together a portfolio of your work, prepare a performance or deliver a presentation, depending on your chosen course. This means we can learn about your ability, style and personality.
Visit our Preparing for your interview page to find your course and check what you'll need to prepare before your interview.
Performance
If you're applying for an audition-based course, such as a performance or music subject, you'll be asked to prepare a performance for your interview.
You'll need to record your performance or music and upload a link via the Applicant Portal in order to secure your interview date. You may be asked to do your performance at your interview as well, so come prepared.
Portfolio
If you are applying for a portfolio-based course, you'll need to upload a link of your digital portfolio to the Applicant Portal in order to secure your interview date. Take a look at our Portfolio advice page for tips on what to include in your portfolio.
If you don't have a completed portfolio from this year, don't worry. You can use one of our Falmouth Creative Projects to help you develop a portfolio.
It's up to you if you'd like to bring a hard copy of your portfolio to your interview. This can be helpful to remind you what to talk about, but it's not essential.
Presentation
If you're applying for a non-portfolio or non-performance based course, then you need to respond to one of our Falmouth Creative Projects with a presentation. Think creatively about how you might present your idea and what works for your subject area, you don't just have to use a Powerpoint.
You'll do your presentation to us in your interview, so there's no need to upload any files in advance.
Enjoy preparing for your interview
We understand that it can be daunting preparing for a university interview, especially if you don't have access to all your work, or if your education has been different over the last two years. We want to encourage you to see your interview as an opportunity to show us what you're passionate about and what you'll bring to our creative community.
We're always here to help, so if you have any questions you can use the contact details at the bottom of this page and we can support your application journey.
You'll be invited to your online interview via the Applicant Portal. If you'd prefer to have an in-person interview on campus then you'll be able to let us know in the Applicant Portal. We're not able to run our regional interviews this year but hope to run them in 2023.
Interviews give you the opportunity to demonstrate your creative skills. They are also a great way for you to get to know Falmouth better and find out if it's the best fit for you.
If you can't make the interview date you've been given, there's no need to worry. Just log into the Applicant Portal and select a preferred date.
We try to make a decision within five working days of your interview. However, we want everyone to have a fair chance, so popular courses can take longer.
Offer types
There are two types of university offers you could receive:
Conditional offer: You'll need to fulfil some conditions before starting your studies, like getting certain grades and meeting our English language requirements.
Unconditional offer: You don't have any conditions to fulfil prior to starting the course, you have secured a place. We'll get in touch with you about next steps.
If you are an International Student you will also need to pay an acceptance fee, we'll give you all the details for this in the Applicant Portal.
If you applied via UCAS, log in to UCAS Apply & Track to accept your offer.
If you applied directly with us, you can accept your offer through the Applicant Portal
We'll save your place as soon as you accept a conditional or unconditional offer, and we'll let you know if we need any more information.
If you're wondering how your application's coming along, or you're worried that you won't meet your conditions, our Applicant Services team is on hand to help. Get in touch using the details below.
